I have Tom Holmes in a non-reverse. It is a beast. I prefer FB minis in the neck and middle position. And I like the P-90s in my other non-reverse best of all.

OP:

give it a shot, i have a 71 deluxe with minis and keep thinking to throw a set of lollar p90s in it

then take the mini's from the deluxe and put them in my 91 FB which has stock pups,

just for kicks to see how they sound...

If it’s already routed for full size and they’re just kicking around then absolutely yes you should!
