Thanks for all of the input. Although the Bourbon was a clear winner, and my fave as well, it had some finish issues that Sweetwater discovered when I asked them to do a final QC check before it was shipped. Unfortunately, they did not have a suitable replacement in Bourbon, so I asked for other Unburst options. I went with this one, which has a more subtle flame and perfect weight.

Looks great. I bet that flame will pop at certain angles.

Agreed. I think this is one of those that really pops in person. I've bought some LPs from them that looked nice in their photos but were total show stoppers in person.

So I recently sold my 74’ Les Paul Deluxe Goldtop and I was browsing through the “Stupid deal” of the day and 60’s LP caught my eyes. I was going through the same decision...which one should I get? I went with Burbon Burst. When I got the guitar and opened the box....it didn’t look like a Bourbon burst and left top was flames and right top was not flamed....WTH? Also finish looked more like ice tea than bourbon burst.
So I spoke to a customer service rep and returned it. Then my buddy was shopping at a local GC and found 2019 LP 50’s in Tobacco Burst....and flame finish was excellent. It was used and I got a killer deal! So here the are.... first the 60’s that I returned and second is the 50’s which I just bought yesterday.

I have the unburst and I frickin love it. I got lucky somehow and ended up with an amazing flame top. I would Go for whatever one has a nicer top not just focus on the color

I don't like the lighter bursts or tops on Les Pauls, I'd definitely get the Bourbon.

Burbon, I love the darker colors. It gives it more contrast and character. You can see the curves more.... I like curves.

Dark burst!

I know the issue is settled, but if it had been my choice, it would have been the Bourbon Burst. Since that one has problems, my next choice would have been the Iced Tea Burst.

Regardless, the Unburst is still a good-looking guitar.
