I went back to The Doctor yesterday after 5 weeks .. My weight is now 267, I lost 17 lbs in five weeks . She told me that they want more weight off ,, a lot more ,, a ton more ,, a crapload more , a shitload more , Lizzo more , Gary Moore, Less Is More,
Unbelievable what she wants ,, she said that my Body Mass index is currently 37, she needs me to get to 25 !!
That ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,60 lbs folks l
She said it is possible with my exercise and diet and the help of the OZ ,, yup the Ozempic . I am on .25 as of last night ,, next week , she said to move it to .5 . She said that I should see more results with the move up to that setting . Has anyone out there is Backstage land experienced it yet with the OZ stuff ?
I’m carrying the equivalent of 6 Goldtops around with me ,,,, How long do you think it will take to drop 60 ??

We're doing Zepbound. I'm still on the .25. Angela has gone up to the .5.

I lost 80 to 90 lbs before without it. Strictly diet. Didn't start really exercising (biking and running) until after the majority of that was already lost.

WFH put a bunch of it back on. It seems harder to get it off now.

That Zepbound is expensive and not covered by insurance. We've got all the savings cards and direct ordering from Lilly. Saving as much as we can on it.

Oh well. Angela wants us to try it. I'm in.

you don't need Oz.

diet and excercise are all you need.

doctors love to write subs.

The stuff seems to work for a lot of people. If they can get help and get healthy. I don't see the problem with it.

My previous doc would not give me a script for Ozempic or any of those.

When we moved back to Norman, this doc is very receptive to helping me get back to my healthier self.

I’m under 300 for the first time in a couple decades. Diet only, with my wife’s assistance.

Just had to get pissed off enough to make the commitment.

I don’t like what I see and hear with the weight loss drugs, so I’ll resist that option.

I've heard that along with the weight loss using those scripts you also lose muscle strength and if you put the weight back on later the muscle loss remains putting you in even worse shape than when you started.

That would be true for any dieting. The body wants protein, so guess what it breaks down first. Hint, it ain't fat.

I posted this before, so here’s the quick version. Last year I lost 40 pounds and Mrs. Leu lost 70. She did it with the drugs, I did not. She has had no side effects whatsoever and has kept the weight off. I still fluctuate a bit but I’m still down overall.

I really wish more people would just eat healthily and get more exercise to lose weight. The prescription drug route is not a good way to go.
I would agree, but sometimes there is no option.

I am big on the diet these days, however.

Added later, are fresh mushrooms, chickpeas, vinegar and EV. Olive oil. I've been vegan on this one since tuesday, but tonight will add a side dish ...Medallion beef steak. Tomorrow, the side will be Jerk chicken, slow cooked with the seasoning, and green pepper, onion, celery, and red kidney beans , which thicken up the gravy. No carb, except it's all in the veggies.
forgot to add...something new i've added...a low fat(1%) active bacterial culture cheese i discovered, same texture as feta...but way blander...just add it generously to the top, plus salt, pepper and EVOO and good to go.
ps: there is a big helping of green jalapeno peppers in the salad for that kick...yum.

I use these for when I need a snack... Zero sugar , low carb, good protein, beef.... Gets me by when I don't have time to eat...
I order by the box from AmZ.

Get one of these egg steamers or better yet a bigger steamer to do vegetables and such... Broccoli with garlic and spices is killer... I'll run some eggs in mine, put em in a bowl in the fridge... Sometimes, I'll eat boiled eggs for a meal. Very filling and protein.... Fill bottom with water, put eggs in the holder racks, close, and plug in.... Done in 20min via steam... I am thinking about getting a bigger steamer... I have the high speed low drag stainless steel big stew pot with steamer pot for inside it but I'd like a simple countertop so I don't have to use the stove and big pots...

I like to wrap salmon filets airtight in tin foil with all kinds of spices and steam em... Two level steamer, I could do everything at once, wrap everything in foil, no real cleanup...

I've been referencing that diet I did many years ago where I lost all that weight. I'll snack on nuts, cheese, veggies, or fruit. All that was on their "approved" list (long discussion, but the list worked).

My problem is not the foods. It is the overall calories and the fact, I am not sticking strictly to the weight loss portion, but rather the maintenance portion ... and even cheating then.

Gotta get it under control. I can do it. Just gotta do it.

17 pounds in 5 weeks is pretty good. I don't know what that doctor is expecting. 3 pounds a week is a healthy rate. If you lose too much at once, you'll hit a plateau sooner and fast off = fast back on.

12 pounds a month is 144 pounds in a year. How much do you need to lose to get to a BMI of 25? Which by the way isn't the end all be all of metrics. My chart says I'm 5'9" and at 170 I was marginally over @ 25.1 or 25.2 and the doctor called me obese. There is no fucking way I was obese at 170.
