hey guys,

My friends father has an old guild From the late 50s and I would like to get sme info on it.

model number: CE-100-DP
serial number: 19874

It has grover tuners on it and fret end binding. seems to be finished in nitro and has p90s.

The guitar plays great with the exception of needing a refret. if anyone has any info/specs on these let me know.

Here's some pics:

Yeah.....lovely! CSharp's link has pretty much covered the info but the Grover StaTites are original and although the guitar was built in 1959 and should have had "stove knobs" these guitars were often assembled over several years (my Emeraldfire started in 1961 and finished in '63!) and consequently often have later knobs as they are generally the last bits stuck on!

Great guitar and I would love it!

Thanks for the info guys!

He wanted to get it refinished, I talked him out of it. It's getting a re-fret and a set up though. it really is a great guitar.

Qwank:

That's a seriously cool guitar you have there. In several ways. It's the deeper body version of the guild "slim jim" hollow body, I believe with code T-100. The CE is more like a Gibson ES-175. And those pickups are unique. Quite P90 like, much prized by Guild afficianados.

Head over to www.letstalkguild.com for a heads up on this particular one. A gentleman there (Hans Moust) is extremely knowledgeable on old guilds, and they are a most entertaining, helpful group in general.
