But the question I have is, what if a Native is found guilty of a major crime, and is sentenced to prison term? I don't know of any Native Nations that have prisons. Where will such a convict be confned? IDK.

I grew up in Tulsa, and as I understand the SCOTUS ruling, it only goes to who will prosecute Natives who committ criimes in this part of OK. Now, if you are a Native and are charged with a Federal crime in this part of OK, you will be prosecuted and tried in Tribal court.

But the question I have is, what if a Native is found guilty of a major crime, and is sentenced to prison term? I don't know of any Native Nations that have prisons. Where will such a convict be confned? IDK.

I understand that the Creek (Muscogee) Nation is now trying to work out the "details" that come from this ruling. and there are many such details that must be worked out.

Regarding your second paragraph, if it's a major crime, the FBI gets involved and the case is prosecuted in Federal Court and time is served in a Federal Prison if there is a conviction.

We use NWA for the area because typing or saying Fayetteville/Springdale/Rogers/Bentonville takes too damned long. And the area has grown so much that uinless you see the sign you have no idea you are in a different city

With his timetable, and the unpredictability of the situation, I'd say it kills it unless he negotiates iron-clad terms with the tribe.

If they can get their act together and do so, then boomtown.
