As good as the reissues are the only reason I can see to buy a burst is for investment.

I'm not. That guitar is clearly in the running for the worst product redesign in the history of the world....going back to the advent of the wheel. :laugh2:
I think they are simple beauty and a sign of the times they were created. Our times had to catch up. The same with Fender, Gretsch, Rickenbacker and Harley Davidson............... That is why they are more popular than ever.

I'm guessing you haven't got a '63 SG Les Paul with a neck heel break... I have. ;)

Hopefully it will be fixed one day, because like you say, they are of their time. Evidently it was an amazing sounding guitar once. Remarkably '59 feeling neck as well.
