Anyone else here do any oil painting?

I tried my hand at a Bob Ross style landscape the other day and it turned out pretty good for my first one.

I've watched so many episodes of both Bob Ross and Bill Alexander (the guy who showed Bob how to do the wet-on-wet technique. Not all his paintings are superb, but when he was on, Bob Ross couldn't touch him.) that I could hear the instructions in my head as I painted. View attachment 468796

do you know why they call them "starving artists paintings"



the reason they are starving is their paintings suck and nobody wants to buy them!!!!

i never had had any ability to draw, paint or create something freehand that was decent....i am amazed at people that have that abilty, even on a very primitive scale....a straight line or a circle is a struggle for me, always looks like a 1st grader work.

Used to watch Bob Ross every Sunday. One year for my birthday, received a Bob Ross paint set. Only did 4 or 5 paintings. Had some happy accidents, and some not so happy.
