Ohms - one head, two cabs

I'm adding a second speaker cabinet to my rig. The head has two speaker outputs and both cabinets are rated at 8 ohms each. The head has an ohms selector in the back so the questions is: Do I keep it at 8 ohms as I have with one 8 ohms cabinet or will adding a second cabinet double the resistance so I have to change the switch?

Adding a second 8 ohm cabinet to the second output tap will mean that you're running the cabs in parallel, meaning that you're halving the load. You'll have to set your amp to 4 ohms to run it safely.
