There was someone on "the other board" talking about how amazing the camaraderie was at the MLP booth. I'm sorry to have missed it. One day I'll make it to a show.

Yes, I thought that was quite nice. Here's an excerpt from his post:

...Although I didn't know anyone, the comradery at the My Les Paul booth amazed the hell out of me, it seemed like a bunch of good buddies hanging at a bar, but without the booze! Lots of nice guitars were displayed, especially the real 1959 Les Paul.
And the best thing about their booth was that no one was selling anything there, guitars, books, what have you.

I watched Johnny Hiland perform three times with a bass player, the guy is a super talent. VERY impressive.

I will definitely be attending future shows! And the MLP booth will be my base of operations, haha! I just have to become better friends with those guys, lol.

I encourage anyone who is on the fence about attending to definetely go!

Eric!

Is there any way you can post pics of that 52 LP that was sawn in half?

I should have taken some pics...

Sorry I missed you this time Fezz, I really enjoy our awkward uncomfortable conversations. :)

:laugh2:Pa, I have "softened" my stance. I was going for a HARD R rating, why bother? I now go with PG13, much easier. I'm saving my vitrol for the fraud bands I'm going to destroy in 2015. I have a new band, I'm ready to enflame and enrage. I like MLP:hmm: I guess that is good? I worry about keeping the "edge."

I feel the same way Dean...really too bad the timing didn't work out. But it was a wonderful memory to bring my oldest kid and spend the day with her. Her favorite part of the trip was stoping at Wendy's before we began our drive home :laugh2::laugh2: but I know she really enjoyed it and that's all that really matters. You know I enjoyed it :dude:

Yeah...so the Tele. I went throught that Garrett Park booth and BOY that was a mistake :laugh2: The guitars there were tremendous....all types of stuff, vintage Tweeds etc...but they did a run of Custom Shop Tele's and the '62 Reissue they had that I got to play was just perfect to me. Super, super light, really excellent light relic job and played like a dream. Lindy Fralin custom wound pickups for the run of guitars that sound fantastic. The guys worked on the price, too so I thought it was a fair deal. Not cheap but its a homerun and worth every cent it will cost me paying off :laugh2::laugh2:

Boy, I've been a Les Paul guy for my whole playing life 20 plus years....but now I'm a Tele player, too. I'm shocked it took me this long to wake up and appreciate just how awesome these guitars play and sound.

I should have listened to you better Dean when you told me about the Fenders and how much you love them :applause: I'm sold now :thumb:

I saw that you didn't leave empty handed either!!!!! Killer SCORE

I think think Jenn had the most fun hanging with you - she keeps mentioning something about you and Canada and cracking up. :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

I took that Strat to band practice last night and it sounded AWESOME. LOVE IT! I have to run some contact cleaner through the volume pot and maybe the pup selector switch though. That, and I SERIOUSLY need to take a Sharpie and add some side dot markers on the neck - I looked like one of those shoe gazers leaning over my guitar to see the front of the fretboard so I could figure out where the hell I was on the neck. :laugh2:

For anyone else who is reading - I bought a demo Strat from Bill that he put together to showcase his Hendrix Tribute pickups and they are GREAT. Video of the very same guitar in this link:

JH Tribute Set | Electric City Pickups
I take it its a lefty strat? I have one a Fender Mexi Std. I love Hendrix and the look of the upside down Strat so I rigged my nut and did some things to it to make it right. First gig it was ready for was New Years Eve Y2K. We play this big room huge stage big light show. The lights are off, we are introduced and bam were off. About a few seconds into the first song my other guitar player is giving me this REALLY pissed off look. He is usually mild mannered I am the hot headed one. So I lean over to say WTF? And he says you are playing everything sharp!! I hadn't taken into consideration no side dots and I was a half step sharp the whole first song! Spent the next two songs bent over the neck staring! I didn't go as far a Dave mentioned. I just took white out and marked the spots, but I am ghetto that way! Congrats!! Brian

It's half of a lefty Strat - right handed body, left handed neck, bridge pup is routed at a reverse slant like a lefty flipped over. So, it's a right handed guitar, just with a few left handed qualities.

I just realized that I took a few pics on my phone that I hadn't posted yet. I'll try to process them over the next few days.
