I just scored this 1970 SG Standard from a local touring pro.
He said it's been his open E slide guitar on tour for the last 10 years, and that Derek Trucks played it when he sat in with the ABB. So that's kinda cool.
It's got some non-original parts (the Bigsby and tuners), but the stock T-tops and electronics are intact. No volute, but Made in USA stamp.
It has a repaired heel break, but apparently it's been there since he bought the guitar as a teenager. I am having a local luthier check it out tomorrow morning to make sure the repair is solid, and hopefully we'll be good to go.
Sounds really great, has some serious mojo, and the price was right.
P.S. I do now need to sell my '65 Junior, to avoid divorce. Price dropped to $2,000 net plus shipping, which is a steal for that gorgeous guitar. Thanks!
