My new to me 2015 Firebird has a brass nut/zero fret. [It also has a bunch of other features found only on 2015 and some 2016 guitars, but what the heck.] Anyway, the brass nut zero fret combo wasn't staying in tune, because the brass is too soft, and the zero fret gets grooves in it. Bad. But I found out that Gibson came out with a replacement nut made of titanium, so I called em up. 4 days later, the new nut appeared in my mailbox, FREE, and I live on the other coast from Gibson. Wow! Simple drop-in replacement, and voila! I have a new titanium nut to go with the titanium bridge saddles that came stock that year. I'm amazed it was so pain-free. Who woulda thought, huh?

They’re actually pretty cool about things like that. I had a tuner seize up up on me, and when I asked and told them I could install it myself, they just sent me a replacement, free of charge.
