This is my first post and thread on mylespaul so what better way to start it off then with a New Used Guitar Day!
This is the Guitar Center exclusive Les Paul Junior they were selling earlier this year with the 498t Humbucker with Coil-Splitting and I thought it was pretty cool. So while I was Christmas shopping, I stumbled into Guitar Center and saw the TV Yellow Junior hanging on the used wall. It was hanging for $499 but got a discount for $50 off so it was only $449 now. It was in pretty good condition with only a couple of very small dings on the bottom and the previous owner was kind enough to install Schaller strap locks on it so that was a bonus. So I got it and I gotta say, this little Junior rocks! Even though a junior doesn't feel right without a P-90 the 498t rocks and is pretty strong and the single coil sound is just as strong and crisp. The neck is a 60s slim profile neck that I'm happy with and the torrefied maple fretboard is smooth and makes the sound a bit brighter. The TV Yellow finish is very appealing to my eyes and the finish makes it much easier to play on the neck. So all in all, this slab of mahogany junior just plain rocks!
