The CD player in my cab died, and as the boss won't fix the windshield washer, I ain't even asking on this one. That means radio - which, here in the cornfields, is not a good thing. There's NPR & progressive talk, but I can only take so much politics. The rest of the dial is pretty much rap/bro "country"/Bible-thumping/Bible-thumping/bro "country"/bro "country"/bro "country"rap/Bible-thumping......you get the idea. So, I've been listening to a bad oldies station - "The Greatest Hits Of The '60s, '70s, and '80s" - as if that was one thing.
As a result, for the last few days I've had an ear worm of Hamilton, Joe Franks, And Reynolds, "Don't Pull Your Love". (Shoot me now, please; I'll spare you & not link a vid).
This has me thinking, we've had a few threads about how lucky those of us who can remember the '60s & '70s are to have had such great music - but hey, we had some real crap, too.
Come on, now, fellow old farts - what were the worst songs of the '60s & '70s (and no Shaggs - I'm talking hits here).
I'll start with the above, and add Dan Hill, "Sometimes When We Touch", Carl Douglas, "Kung Fu Fighting", Gary Lewis & The Playboys, "This Diamond Ring", Terry Jacks, "Seasons In The Sun"....and that's all I can take.
Come on, hit me with your worst shot!

First, watch this:

15%2B-%2B1

There was so much sappy suck on AM radio in the 70's and early 80's that I have no idea how I ever became a musician. Too many to list.

Okay, youtube doesn't seem to be embedding for some reason...

I see you already mentioned "Seasons in the Sun" by the immortal... uhh... Terry Jacks?

Terry Jacks? Wow, what a name!

Lots and lots of wonderful music from that era that is earworm fodder... you've got stuff like:

1. The Night Chicago Died
2. Billy Don't Be a Hero
3. Me and God Are Watching Scotty Grow
4. You're the One I Want
5. Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?

And on and on and on. I could think of about 100 others, but I don't like to be a list hog.

Lots of crappy music to choose from!

Um, the stations would be the same.....
And I don't have portable player of any type.

I figured you were just talking about AM junk or something. Man, you must be way out there, somewhere.

You have my sympathy.

Link no work :dunno:

Yeah... I finally noticed that. See edit!

You guys are killing me and this one's just getting started!
Amazing, but true.
Every time I get a free SiriusXM radio free trial it seems like all I hear is stuff I hated then and still hate now. We brag about setting the standard. It's really quite embarrassing.

Ah, yes - "Seasons In The Sun"; without a doubt the best song ever about the joys of teen suicide......

And I will second all your choices. Then I'll go shower.

I have a flip phone with texting disabled. Now get off my lawn!

I almost typed in "I win!" but the fact that these immediately came to mind means the 70's did their job on my pre-adolescent mind, so the 70's won, and I lost.
