Normal truss rod cavity?

I found a used 2004 Gibson Les Paul standard in Amber. Asked the seller if I can see a pic of the truss rod cavity, and interestingly enough, it is the same as my friend’s 2005 Standard with the shim on the front. So, I’m guessing some Standards around this year have come out with their truss rod cavity shaped like this. Here is a picture of the used 2004 one.
