I've been an atheist my entire life, but I've always loved this tune.:applause: Way back when we had a female singer I brought this one up and got funny looks from the entire band...including her:laugh2:[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4CRkpBGQzU]Joan Osborne - One Of Us - YouTube[/ame]

I first heard this when I was in the Army, and when I paid attention to the lyrics, it tore me up.

I noticed that too. Great rock band, imo. Nothing guilty in it all.

The original band was the one I loved. Tobacco Road, Spooky Two, and The Last Puff. Excellent, never over the top. They were a good live band, that lineup.

Is there really a 'guilty pleasure'?

Or was it really embarrassment when we were younger and cared
more about what others thought. We all wanted to be so cool.
Now who gives a sheet what others think. Just listen.

It may be called guilty today and that's okay too. That is what this
thread is all about, the Non-guilty Guilty Pleasure.

I call it eclectic musical tastes.
Thanks for listening.

:shock:
Oh oh. did I just get serious...???
Dammit.

The second concert that Fleetwood Mac played in their Buckingham-Nicks incarnation was Syracuse, New York, at the old Landmark Theater-- one of those old, rococo movie palaces from the 1920's. What a setup!...I think that most of we who were at this concert were unaware that Bob Welch was no longer with group. I remember looking at Lindsay Buckingham and wondering "who's this guy?" and then being puzzled by the sudden appearance of the then-27 year-old Stevie Nicks... my god, she was gorgeous that night... I was a drooling fool of a seventeen year-old mook after a mere twenty seconds of exposure to her... :laugh2:

But then they lit into Monday Morning, and by the time that song was over, we didn't actually seem to care who that new guy was... he was killer!...that was still one of the best concerts I ever saw... the sound was perfect, the group was unbelievably tight, and the ambiance was simply incredible.

Reminds me of when I saw Genesis in early 1977. I did not know who they were. Then the people I was with were going on about how Peter Gabriel was no longer with the group. They had some new guy named Phil Collins. It was a spectacular show! First concert I'd seen with a laser light show, iirc. Can't put into words how entertaining it was. And two drummers! lol :)

Lady Gaga. Very talented woman. She should do a song with Slash like Fergie did.

There are some fantastic pop singers that need to do some hard rock. Christinia Agumalaria, Fergie, Lady Gaga...

No guilty pleasures here.

"Eclectic" pretty much defines me when it comes to music, and I stopped giving a crap what people thought about my music tastes and what I listen to a long time ago.

Bands like Rammstein, Breaking Benjamin and Muse pretty much define most of the stuff I listen to at this point in time, though I also listen to the likes of these bands:

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nw8oF-kZoDk"]FAMILY FORCE 5 - Radiator[/ame]

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3eB6in0Vrw"]ALL TIME LOW - That Girl[/ame]

Love these guys... so much truth in this one...

Written about an ex band member who got kicked out and subsequently tried to rip off the band... (Charlie Scene's verse is nothing short of awesome!)

I love the whole "Spooky Two" album, but especially these two:

Nine times out of ten, I'll start playing this as soon as the tubes get warm without even thinking about it:

No, I don't think it does, or at least, I don't think it should. C'mon man, Badfinger was pretty darn good, love that tune. Gonna have to dig deeper, I guess:laugh2:
