Agreed dude....wtf?
HISTORY:
Beard Beer is brewed with a yeast created from Brewmaster John Maiers beard. No need to freak out, brewers have used wild yeasts in beer making for centuries.
John has had the same old growth beard since 1978 and for over 18,000 brews, so it is no great surprise that a natural yeast ideal for brewing was discovered in his beard.
What does Beard Beer taste like? Try it, we think youll be surprised
I hope they aren't getting these wild yeasts from other areas of the human anatomy.![]()
I doubt what is being cultured for use is a natural yeast just because it came from his beard.
It's just the leftover stuff in his beard from dribbling while drinking a few pints of whatever he had to drink that day, cultured and expanded enough to be a volume adequate to pitch into this new beer in the bright tanks.
