Hey guys, looking at picking up a 12 339 custom shop , however there is no custom shop decal on the back of the neck, I’ve seen some with it and some without it. Any knowledge on this? Can provide pics if necessary

The older custom shop models didn't have decals, or at least some of them didn't (like Historics). I don't know which models had them when or anything, though, so am not much help.

My EDS-1275 double neck was built in 2006 and had the decal.
First year for them.

It’s kinda hit & miss before that.

Fair enough. I’ve seen the same model es-339 that have been sold with and without the decal. Has a CS serial though and documentation.

I have a Memphis 2010 ES-339 CS 052XXX with the decal on the back of the headstock.

Back with the original run of 339’s, they put the custom shop logo on the guitars despite the fact that they were not made by the true custom shop. At the time, all 339’s were manufactured in Memphis which were all considered “custom shop” when in fact they were standard production.

TLDR; most are just regular old 339’s even if they have the CS logo.
