slightly off topic but relevant. Has anybody ever used blush or retarder to fix a crack in the nitro finish?

I agree; if you're intentionally adding the "G" logo and go to the effort of stamping "Made in the USA" and a Serial # on the back, with the sole purpose of selling the guitar, then you are, indeed, making a counterfeit. The whole 'adding ur name to the p'up cavity' does not pass the smell test because 98% of the world's population would have no idea.

I don't see any issue with folks that want to build their own, personal "replica" either. Although I'm a proponent of having your own logo made out of MOP and altering the headstock enough because if you did the work, you should get the credit.
