No Color. I know several people who have played this guitar and they all say it's very nice.

do you mean that people don't like if there is no red remaining? I wonder why it has faded so much as the 60s are known for not fading much and beeing tomato soupish

No, but should sound a lot better though!

OOOOOkaaaay, that is debatable. Have you ever heard a F1 Scuderia Ferrari in person? ...it will make you pee your pants.

But ya, I'd probably take the guitar too, but only because you'll NEVER be able to get your money back out of a Ferrari unless it's something legendary, like an F40...

yes, i did and actually do once, twice a month and many other Ferraris as well. We have an old industry estate around which was converted to a classical cars kinda Mall. http://www.klassikstadt.com/ Even McLaren has their representation there, Wiesmann as well

Many companies restoring and selling classical cars reside there and i go there at least every 4 weeks when there is an organised classical cars meeting with more than 300 cars from visitors and the same amount from the companies. Sportscars are very welcome as well and so current Ferraris, Porsches and whatever sportscar you can think of are all over the place.

I really do not like the Ferrari sound. Too aggressive, too hollow sounding like out of an empty can. But that's my taste only. I like V8 sound better. American big blocks with open pipes and the Aston Martin V8 with disabled exhaust flaps of course, that is the one i own (until it's sold because i am selling it)

yeah, love this place. Last sunday a vintage car collector had his vintage race boat in to. An italian Hydroplane with a gorgeous arrangement of the exhaust manifold bursting out of the hood. What a stunner! Last year a real big pile of Mahogany could be seen on a vintage Yacht from the 30s or 40s, i don't know. McLaren has a Formula 1 racer standing in their showroom, a World Champion's Lancia Delta HF Integrale is standing there as fresh from the race. Outstanding place

Hey Sharky, do you know if one can try real bursts at the Musikmesse in Frankfurt? I know they had some on display and for sale, but behind glass.... I've never tryed one and would be really interesting to try one.... guitarpoint have some vintage stuff, but no bursts as far as I can see.....

I didn't go to the Musikmesse this year, but I know they had some bursts...

It doesn't make much sense to convert those prices back into USD, since as soon as you have imported any guitar into Germany you already have overheads of about 22% (value added tax, customs...) so you will never get back to US prices this way... (not from a dealer anyway)

i think you can check out the burst if you are able to simulate serious interest. May be it's worth a try to shoot Detlef Alder a mail with your honest statement that you are not able to buy it but would so much love to play a burst for some minutes. Maybe he will let you. Maybe not, i don't know. I think that he has requests like this all day long.

To me, even though i would of course love to own one, Bursts are not as spectecular as one would imagine. But they are completly different to Reissues or just elder Les Pauls. It's a certain vibe i can't describe. Same with a 57 Goldtop to me, even though you can buy three for the price of a Burst
