So, Leslie West & Iommi (on the early Sabbath stuff) used P90s, and I've been wanting P90s forever. I've been looking at some of those 1990/91 Anni Lesters with P100s and the plan was to swap them out with P90s, but it would not be a straight swap, as the P100s require deeper routing.

THEN, I found this gem: 1996 Standard (it's no secret 'round these parts how much I LOVE '90s Lesters) with P90s. AND, W I D E cutaway binding (another love from the Norlin & 1990s Lesters).

Yamano and Honeyburst. I included a shot of the case candy; coa and pickguard were sadly lost. I bought a new 1956 pickguard, but it stands out like a sore thumb, as the binding and pickup covers have yellowed beautifully. Guess I'll be looking for an aged pickguard.

OK, enough blabbing. As you know, "Pics, or it didn't happen" is a FAR-UM rule, so Here ya go:

Nice axe! Before you scour the earth for another pickguard you could try aging the one you have with Kiwi brown shoe polish. There are instructions for aging plastic tuner keys in Dan Erlewine's "Guitar Player Repair Book," Third Edition. Might work on a pickguard too!

Holy friggin' moley.

That is the plainest of plain tops I have ever seen. It is glorious.

Enjoy it in good health, my friend.

Edit: And yes, P-90's rule.
