Had this one stored in Japan for a while and finally got it in. I believe it's a 1970-72 model as the earlier ones had black pickup covers. It's in fantastic shape for a 51+ year old guitar and plays awesome. Looks like it's a keeper, the pickups are very clear and the controls give a nice range of tones. I'm in love! Just cleaned, oiled it and put new strings on quick. Need to find a tremolo arm for it to complete it besides setting it up and flipping the bridge. Ha

Looks great! Have any details about the tiny amp? I like that it's small enough to fit in the compartment in the case.

It's a Barclays "3w" model Mp-2500. Ok sound at it's lower volumes, but gets pretty crappy at louder levels. It has a headphone out and runs off a 9v battery or a pedal power supply. It's fun for what it is, I'm assuming it's from the early 70's like the guitar.

Very cool, I was tempted to pull the trigger on one of those a few months ago. I may still if the right one appears. I do have a neck pickup (one of the black ones you mentioned) sitting in Zenmarkets warehouse with some other small fry.

BTW, does it have a blend pot?
Yes, the knobs are the last pic I posted. The balancer knob is the blend pot. I like the feature.

Nice, I like the neck pickup. It’s not muddy and has good treble. Sounds good on the high frets to me. The bridge gets twangy with the tone all the way up but rolled back or blended with the neck it sounds great.

Thanks, It's my first electric Yamaha. I paid out the rear for EMS but I got a great deal on the guitar so I'm still happy. Of course you have more Yamahas coming. lol Looking forward to those and the Stafford!
