Cool. Enjoy!

Thanks man. I had this post a while ago, but I didn't have the guitar in hand. I've had it now for a month, but I had been busy with working on an EP and just general life stuff that I didn't have that much time to take photos (also this is an iPhone - sadly I don't own a nice camera).

Very nice but I couldn't help but notice the Nashville bridge on there (they're not historically accurate dude, careful!)?? Do you know what happened to the ABR-1? Those two bridges are not interchangeable either far as I know. I take it you won't be slapping a Bigsby back on there either? If you did it would be looking pretty Keef-bursty if you know what I mean.

Nice burst on that one, very subtle around the lower bout. Love that. Build year?

the Nashville bridge has larger holes for the studs & will fit easily on top of the ABR-1 studs. But when switching from Nashville to ABR-1, you either have to replace the studs (and do some wood working) or else enlarge the stud holes in the ABR-1 or else find the other version of the ABR-1 that was made with larger holes; can't remember what it is called or if they even make them anymore.

Check. For a second there I thought you would have to remove the ABR-1 posts to sink the threads for the Nashville posts. Can't imagine anyone doing that to an R9! It makes more sense now, but still-a Nashville bridge? WTF? Glad to see new hardware is on the way...

Yeah, I really love this one! It gets real subtle in certain light, then jumps out in others. While Keith is my favorite as far as song writers go, I don't dig bigsby bars because of the way the strings feel to me. The pick attack seems to be absorbed rather than sprung back through the rest of the guitar. I can't really explain it, but it's always felt "soft" to me, and there's tuning issues.

Appreciate it though! I worship the Keith burst.

I feel like there's so many options these days to replace. Apparently there's faber, rs, callaham, etc. I'm just trying to decide the best option with my tech. All I know is to stay the hell away from "tonepros."

Beauty, congrats!!!!

That rocks Dude :dude:

Thanks guys!

I wanted to know what you guys would think of Gold Pickup Covers, Gold Truss Rod cover, Gold Tail Piece and Bridge, and Gold Grovers? Too much?!?! Your opinion is wanted!

FYI - IT'S A DON FELDER! :laugh2: And while none of us care about Don Felder, I ended up getting this guitar on the trust of my guitar tech's friend who works at the Custom Shop. His choice was based upon tone and playability.

You do know that it's not a Murphy aged ? Because that what the thread title says.
From the Gibson site :

Produced as a three-tiered Limited Edition, with 50 guitars hand-aged by Gibson Custom and personally signed by Don Felder, 100 hand-aged, and a further 150 given Gibson's VOS treatment, each includes a numbered Certificate of Authenticity to record its status for posterity.

Hand-aged examples meticulously reproduce the look of Felder's own '59 Les Paul, while VOS versions present the gently aged look and feel of a vintage instrument. All are made with period-correct specs and components, including a pair of Gibson's most accurate reproduction PAF pickups, and finished in a uniquely tinted and faded "Felder Burst" finish, formulated exclusively for this guitar. As rare and desirable as all 'Bursts are, this limited run recreates one of the greatest, and a big slice of tone history.
Nothing about Murphy there.

You said "FYI - IT'S A DON FELDER! And while none of us care about Don Felder, I ended up getting this guitar on the trust of my guitar tech's friend who works at the Custom Shop. His choice was based upon tone and playability. "
Just saying .........:thumb:
