Looks great! Very nice color. Congratulations :thumb:

Did you put the "Standard" truss rod cover on it?

Lovely! I like how it's pretty much a plain top but the flames peek out at certain angles. Great stuff!!!

Thanks hidetox. There is definitely a lot going on on every different angle. That's what I like about this top.

It is actually quite flamey but this is my first time trying to take "decent" pictures of a guitar. Plus, I had limited time, so I could not get the best out of that top, yet but I will photograph her some more coming week to get more photography experience and all.

Awesome guitar man!! I've been through several reissues so far and my R8 plain top is my favorite of them all. I sell/trade a lot, but the R8 will never go!!

Thx, nutsauce! It really feels like i found the one. I thought my other guitars were comfy and sounding good until I played this R8. Pleasantly shocked and surprised.

I will be playing it this Thursday at the practice. We will see how that goes.

It took me a while to slot my favorite R as my #1. I knew it was a keeper; wasn't sure it was an Ace. Glad to hear you are enjoying it so much!

Fus, so far it took me about a year to really gel with any guitar. With this guitar, I just started playing it, 5 mins in, I was sold.

That's why my post might come as an obnoxious one but I was super excited about that :wow:

Beautiful guitar and beautiful photos. I love such tops, not too flamey, but still rich and 3D. :thumb:

+1 found an R8 Lefty hanging unloved in a Gibson dealers store. Had been manufactured 2 yrs prior so had been hanging around a while seasoning. Had picked up and tried what lefty R9, R8s GT's I could find, but this one felt perfect. Got it for just above cost to clear it (lefty's are slow moving :)) ...... she rings and sings.
