NGD R8 Lemon Burst

Arrived this morning, had wanted a plain(ish) top Lemon Burst for a long time.
This is my second NGGD (New Gibson Guitar Day) in the past three weeks having only recently bought a new (to me) 2019 Standard 50s.

How do the R8 and Standard compare?

R8 is lighter and feels more “alive” unplugged. They’re both great guitars, haven’t played the R8 enough yet to form an opinion above “I love it”. On a basic level the sounds are more complex and have more nuance than the standard but the standard is no slouch. I really like the neck and frets on the R8 too.

Nice!. The Custom Shop is killing it these days. My 2020 R8 has been my favorite guitar as of lately. The neck has a great profile and I love the frets because they're a bit taller than the frets used on Historics of the past. The Custombuckers really sound great. All of my other Historics have various upgrade parts on them, but this R8 is perfect right out of the box.
