Hello all, just pulled the trigger on this reclaimed CE24 last week and I'm pretty pumped about it. This is my first PRS after mostly Gibson's and I am definitely not disappointed.

Out of the box the setup was pretty much perfect so I wasted no time plugging her in to see what this exotic wood sounds like. I was expecting it to be on the brighter side due to the maple bolt on neck but it's actually warmer than I excepted. The coil taps are very useful and I'm still messing around with pickup height and the eq on my amp. Also tuning is rock solid even with heavy trem use which is a pleasant surprise.

You can really feel the body resonate when played and I love looking at the top on this so I'd say it's a winner for sure! If I really had to nitpick, I would of liked PRS to number these since it's a limited run and also I think I would of preferred either a blank fret board or dots to show of the wood more but I'll live with it if I have to :thumb: Enjoy the pictures!

It's hard to beat a nice hunk of unmolested wood in your hands...And well as a nice guitar.

Thanks guys! It's definitely a different type of beast than my Les Paul so I'm still working out how to eq it but I definitely like it's unique sound, snappy but warm at the same time.

Beautiful!

So, what are the woods in these? Is that a cedar top? Is the fretboard also reclaimed, and is it ebony? More info!

Thanks! According to PRS the wood used for the top is called Peroba Rosa and is typically used as siding on houses in Brazil. The fretboard wood is Brauna Preto and is used as supporting posts for buildings in Brazil. They estimated the exotic woods used in this run are between 75 and 150 years old.

The Brauna Preto on the fretboard is very dense and hard almost like ebony. The board on mine is very dark but there was a different one I played that had a lighter board so the color can very. I took off the strings and examined the board up close and there is some nice figuring in it but it's very hard to see unless you're up close because of how dark it is.

That's what I'm talkin' about! Thanks jcarroll2!

-I suppose I could have looked it up (or you could have dropped a link), but it's more interactive and fun this way.

-Bitchin' guitar.
