So part II of my NGD was completed with the help of our own Brett from Eddie's Guitars. I've purchased from him in the past, and this time the experience was just as pleasant, if not better. I was GASsing bad for one of the new Classic Customs in Antique Natural and I was going to pick one up on a Black Friday deal. I contacted Brett and he told me whatever BF deal I was getting he could beat it. And he was right.
His customer service is second to none and I felt confident knowing that even though I was buying it sight unseen it was going to pass through his hands and he would give it a personal once-over before sending it along to me. EDIT: Now with better photos!!
This guitar is *awesome*.
From the weight (hefty but not concrete) to the neck (nice SlimTaper 60s), to the action (super low, the way I like it) to the '57/'57+ PUPs (my fav) and last but not least the finish. Although I've only noodled on it for a couple of hours, it sounds phenomenal and is one of the best sustainers of my stable. Other than installing Schaller strap locks (already done), this guitar needs zero adjustment out of the box.
And yes, that *is* a baked maple fretboard.
