Thanks... both tops have the medium size chevrons which I love.

Both Slashers came with excellent factory setups. Medium-low action and no buzzing whatsoever. But I always lower the action a tad and re-setup with 9s to meet my own needs.

Flawless finishes on both. Even the microscope mongers would like these.

Oh and for the aroma fanatics: My Vermillion smells like cookie dough and my November smells like Play-Doh. :)

The Slashbuckers have a meaty growl to them. They don't cut like burstbuckers tho. Which is not a bad thing at all, just different.

Anyway... I highly recommend these to any Les Paul player who wants a super-high quality Standard with some modern color options.

They do have a custom shop feel to them.
Yep! Mine feels like it was just completely meticulously put together, more so than other USA models I've owned the last couple years.
And I actually passed on an R8, and R9 because they were not when I played them, imho

I’m digging those reflector knobs. Well done bud.
Thanks man. All my Pauls get reflectors... they have a bit more to grab on to than regular tophats and look cooler.

I have a different experience than Peter on my Standard 50s and Slash Standard. I find that the Burstbuckers are much more mellow of a pickup compared to the Slash ones, which are a lot hotter and drive the amp nicely. I find that the neck pickup has a lot of clarity and reminds me of the good aspects of a PRS neck pickup (clear and rich, but still very full sounding). I particularly enjoy it with clean tone.

I think I mentioned before that I will be moving mine on though, since I want an R9 and parting with a bunch of gear is the only way that’s going to happen. If you’re seriously looking to move on a Slash one (November), let me know. I have a real nice 8 lb 14.5 oz one that hangs real well with my R0 in terms of sustain and resonance. It’s not a dog, which I ran into a few (bought and returned 2 of them) when I was on the hunt last year. It’s less than a year in my hands, bought brand new. :)

I can confirm, Slash Gibson LP's are killer right out of the box. Those are beauties. I love mine more and more each day.

I swapped the slashbuckers out for SD slash pups and it sounds so pleasing to the ear thru a Marshall

Gibson actually calls 'em: Custom Burstbuckers Alnico II. They sound more aggresive than regular BBs to me.... but I dig 'em.

I'm not discounting them at all, I just prefer the more "woman tone" the SD APH-2S offer.

Threw on a set of aged gold/gold reflectors. I'm diggin' them more than the amber set.
