I wouldn't know how to tune a 12, much less play one. But I can appreciate the work and craftsmanship that went into that one.:applause:

disclaimer: I am not a luthier or woodworker...this was a blast

Ok...this all started with me listening to sloop John B about 11 months ago...
The 12 string blew my mind...it was a fender electric 12....live wilson played an epiphone 12
I ordered a fender Xii neck from ebay which is kinda cool...hockey stick headstock...but it was/is huge

then the idea transformed and I decided to build my dream guitar...
but one problem....bigsby has never made a 12 string gold b7

Gibson made a 12 string les Paul in 2012 But I was determined to have each string intonated and a b7...
I wanted it to be volume, volume, volume(middle always hot and splittable), master tone
i can split any one of the 3 in any way at any time...
selector is standard wiring...

so here she is...glossiest guitar in my collection

3 take always...wet sanding and pore filling are the worst...
I considered for many months how to make a 12 string bigsby....
then one day it hit me...a vibramate spoiler...I’ve burned through about 16 1/16 bits to get these holes… The low he required a slightly bigger hole so I went back through it with a 1/8… Held it with five Scripps and electrical tape so as not to damage it…
I’m quite pleased with the result

thank u to warmoth, 920d(wiring harnesses), and Bryant at Charlie’s who soldered the push pulls and set up the 12 string along with setting the neck

warmoth body
mahogany
quilted maple cap
creme binding
Stained with 4 different browns and one gold which I varied darkness
50 million layers of gloss

Warmoth neck
Flamed maple (which took forever to match color to mahogany back)
ebony board
gold 6120 frets
block inlays
creme binding

hardware
Dimarzio Air classic bridge f-spaced
DimarzioLiquid fire neck f-spaced
Dimarzio Al Dimeola neck f-spaced
see order sheet for pots/caps

I have 1 million pictures but don’t want to overload this because I don’t even know what size the new site will take… Let me know if you have any questions as this was an absolute joy from start to finish… I can’t speak highly enough about Warmoth and I’ve got a few more ideas… Also, the bridge is unbelievably cool and from Germany which took a while due to all the corona shipping nightmares View attachment 462223 View attachment 462224 View attachment 462225 View attachment 462226 View attachment 462226 View attachment 462227 View attachment 462228 View attachment 462229 View attachment 462230 View attachment 462230 View attachment 462231 View attachment 462232 View attachment 462232 View attachment 462233 View attachment 462239 View attachment 462235 View attachment 462234

Nice job. Looks really cool, especially like the headstock.

I intonated a friends ‘67 ES-325TD-12 string. Luckily he wasn’t crazy enough to put a Bigsby on it.

epic build, Chris. I love how you do EXACTLY what you want and don't give a F what others might think.

please tell me at this point you're getting a discount on the Bigsbys?

@Christosterone I think next time you build a guitar you should try a Duesenberg Les Trem II. You can get them in gold ;) I'm seriously considering getting a chrome one for my Deluxe Tribute. I've replaced everything on it but the tuners and bridge/tail piece, so why not, eh?
If my SG wasn't a wrap tail, a Les Trem would look good on it.

Outside of texas y’all may not know Ian Moore..

he could slay in those days

I love Ian Moore.

I got to see him back in the day when he released his 1st album back in '93.

I saw him in a 2 story club.

He turned up his tweed bassman to 10 and wailed the whole nite.

It was a pretty good size venue, but he was so LOUD, you couldn't escape the deafening volume.

I enjoyed the concert a lot, but I could hear ringing in my ears for the next 3 day.s
