Ordered this in April and just received it today. It's been a long wait but worth it. It is a great player, nice and resonant, with a lovely top. Setup is perfect out of the box. Quality-wise I would put it up with my Gibson 2012 Custom R7. The neck is similar, very chunky

They are weight relieved with a two piece back, I think this is a fair compromise to keep the price and the weight down. This one weighs 3.8kg, or 8.37lbs. I think I prefer hollow/chambered guitars anyway

There are not enough of these manufactured to meet demand so you have to order them before they're built, or else wait for something to show up used. Definitely worth it if you are in Europe/UK. With the strength of the dollar these work out ~15% cheaper than a Gibson USA Standard

It's a really good one. I think I'm lucky although I haven't heard any horror stories

Still loving this one. It sustains like the proverbial

Got some 1970s Dimarzios put in. I had them cleaned and wax potted. They sound incredible. The bobbin colour doesn't quite match, but there is some wear on the neck pickup and the worn part matches. I wonder if I can get the rest of them looking like that. I don't know

Some of the frets started moving in the weather so I had them levelled. The playing experience is silky smooth, the frets are nicely polished and the rosewood has a really tight grain, almost like ebony. I changed the switch tip too

It looks very different in different lights which often surprises me

I recommend considering these if you are in Europe, especially with Gibson prices creeping ever northward

Thank you both. Looking at the pictures I think tall pickup rings may help blend the bobbin tops in. That's nitpicking though

I'd like your take on Dimarzios vs other paf type humbuckers.

The neck is a PAF and the bridge is a Super Distortion. The Distortion is actually very nice clean and not as extreme as its name implies. The neck is quite rounded and warm on the top end but still slightly scooped. I haven't compared it directly to another PAF type but I could. I have a guitar with SD 59s and another guitar with a Dimarzio 36th Anniversary in the neck position
