So this guitar popped up on a forum I frequent.
Turned out the guy selling it was local.
I gave him an offer based on the fact it's not very original, and he accepted.
It's got a stamp in the Electronics cavity that says Mar 28 1977.
The serial starts with 00 so that's a 76 serial right? Pots are dated 1377647 so that's also late 76.
Guess it layed around the factory for a while until they got it assembled?
Anyway, this guitar is Lovely.
Plays like butter, fretless wonder for sure.
The guy I bought it from got it in 1982, and played it until the late eighties.
He then got tired of the Wine red finish and stripped the top and neck. I think the back and sides are still original.
Then it layed around until 1997 when he had it refinished cherryburst by a shop in Stockholm.
The inspiration was obviously Ace Frehleys Budokan guitar.
It then layed around the guys house, hardly ever getting played as I understood.
It was advertised as all pickups being switched to Classic 57s, but when I got it home I noticed the middle seems to be an original T-top.
Sounds great anyways.
I Think it was a good buy, really happy about this one.
