Hello everyone,
I know many of us have been waiting to receive our Les Pauls. Glad to hear many of you have received yours. Here are a few quick cell pics of my Carmel Burst Traditional. I'm not quite finished with it but I thought it would be sort of fun to show what I have done. I added a tort pickguard, a Carmel switch tip, a chrome jack plate, and amber bell knobs. The bell knobs are sitting high, they are resting on the shafts as I am waiting for the USA Gibson bells to arrive. I also added some white felt washers on both strap holders.
I'm about done with modifications, the only think left is to string up a new set of 10s and adjust the action. The guitar arrived dead mint from Sweetwater. The factory set up was the finest I have ever received. 2mm on the Low E (12th) and 1.7 on the High E. Relief was .011". I might try bring her down a touch but if I'm not able Ill be very happy with where it was originally. I wont touch the neck, its just perfect. Frets and finish look incredible. Maple flame is beautiful, hard to shoot in any light well. Ill take better pics when shes all finished.
Thanks much for looking!
Kevin
