NGD: Les Paul Standard Mahogany Top

Wife surprised me with a new Henry rifle…it’s gold and brown…
and I’m in love with the combo…she knows I love gold and lonesome dove so can’t beat the gifts…

the new mahogany top may soon have gold hw and black plastics to match…

An all mahogany Les Paul is still a dream for me. I love the tone. Congrats on a gorgeous guitar. I'll refrain from commenting on the Bigsby idea.

a couple interesting things I’ve noticed…purely anecdotal

playing un-amped the thing resonates and sustains really well.…sounds really nice unplugged

when plugged it, it sounds mean…meaner than a maple top…it’s thicker and meaner with all things comsidered(pots/caps and pups)

this will not be my last mahogany…already eyeing a few customs as I’d like to have this brown color bound on top and on back

its simply gorgeous….and has a very interesting tone

My last few Lester’s have been flamed out or gold…

found a completely untouched example of a 2016 Mahogany Standard..

i love Brown guitars though this one is more copper than I expected..awesome color imho…

these pics are from when I unboxed it an hour ago so pics are terrible…I’ll add good ones tomorrow but I can’t stop playing it…also it’s lacking a bigsby…can’t decide on b7 or b5…I’ll install it tomorrow before I add pics

Also will add a pic of my brown recording…also kinda coppery but more brown than this new standard
