When I take it in for the setup, I may have them switch it to 50's wiring with Orange Drop Capacitors. I just really enjoy 50's wiring over the new standard wiring for Gibson and Epiphone Les Paul's.

I got one of those Lazarus guitars coming here in a few weeks. I can not wait to check the thing out! I am going to do the faber and the tuners but i aint touching anything else on the guitar. All 3 of my 59's have altered finishes hell one is spray painted gold! I want atleast 1 of the 59 series guitars to have the stock finish. The last one i got as a husk only had the top polished and it feels great! The pro buckers in that 60's guitar sound good i like those pups. You prob won't need to swap them out unless you just want to. I only pulled mine out so i didn't have to whack the plugs off them.... Glad your enjoying the guitar man. A while back i made a thread about the 60's standard needing love too. I never really see anyone talk about these 60's guitars...

Got all the parts today and put them on, you can see below that the faber bridge is a little bit smaller.

Keystone/Tulip tuners look so much better. I am still debating on whether I want to get the pearl key buttons to replace the chrome key buttons to make it look more vintage.

Edit: After looking at the picture above with all 3 guitars, I think I should get the vintage pearl keys.

I would deff try some of the pearl buttons. Makes a world of diff looks wise infact i need to order a set for my classic. The guitar looks good man!! I see you didn't get the locking faber bridge? Did you get the locking tail piece or just the org setup? I do find that on some of my guitars keeping the stock tail piece or using a tone pro tail piece it gives the guitar a little warmer tone compared to the alum ones...

I keep the stock stop bar tail piece, Gibson comes with aluminum, but I think the Epiphone tail piece is fine. I just like to replace the bridge and bridge posts and of course change to locking tuners. :dude:

Wow, it's not like there is a Honeymoon Phase for this guitar, it is just an Epiphone Ebony Les Paul Standard 60's model. I have plenty of guitars and after having the more expensive Gibson Standards, Customs, and such, which you do have that Honeymoon Phase for finally getting a guitar you've always wanted. But this is just your regular Epiphone Les Paul inspired by Gibson Standard 60's. I mean wow though, this thing is absolutely fantastic, the fretboard feels really good and just right for me. I tuned it yesterday after putting on the new locking tuners and I played it for a little bit stretching out the strings with pulling and bending to make sure it was all tight and good. I pulled it out today and it was perfectly in tune. I did some playing with some stretching and had to make a couple minor string adjustments and it has been spot on since. This guitar plays effortlessly, I mean really fantastic to chord anywhere and it just feels right. I am so glad I took the plunge to give this guitar a try, even though I have a Gibson 60's.

So disappointing, I did not get the nice Les Paul Case pictured above, instead I was sent an ugly green Ukulele Case from Amazon/Crossrock. Now I have to of course return this item that was not what I ordered and find a different case. Such a bummer since that case is very sweet.

I sent back my Gibson Les Paul Standard 60's today. I am just not happy with it because of the issues it still has, so I will try again, or maybe not, I am not sure.

This Epiphone Les Paul Standard 60's, I have bonded with it already, it is very sweet, and I have not even taken it to my Luthier yet. I actually don't mind the little bit of E fret buzz; it is so fun and easy to play. I will miss it when it is gone, but I still have my Lazarus to play while it is gone as well as my Epiphone Les Paul Custom. But right now, I have been jumping back and forth between my Lazarus and the new 60's, both fantastic guitars.

I picked up a new case from Ebay, looks really nice. I also purchased the Pearloid Tuner Buttons, both should be here on the 15th. :thumb:

Oh that's a nice case man. I don't really take my guitars anywhere so my cases live under my bed!! I got my slash and took it out of the case and it has been under my bed ever since. Same with my 59's but at least I know i have cases if i need too.. Hey those perliod buttons look really good. I think i have gotten 3-4 packs of them for my guitars. I need another set so going to have to order here soon.

I got my new case today, it came early. It is not as plush as we are seeing in the picture above, not horrible mind you, but still not plush or furry. I don't think the case is worth the $150, but it is not horrible, and it fits the guitar nice and snug, so a really good fit. Hey... I wanted a green interior lining, so this is what I got. :hmm:

I think the Douglas cases on Amazon are nicer and cost a little bit less.

You know I usually don't sell my guitars because it's just a pain in the ass and all. But i've been wanting to sell this 60's i have i think i want another 50's instead. But it might be easier to just buy one and keep the 60's... It's so hard to part with these guitars their like my kids lol !!

Yeah the epiphone tail piece is fine but i like to replace the bushings with the faber steel bushings. I usually do the faber master kit. the locking tail piece is prob my most liked feature of the kit. Locks right down into the body! max contact with the body and transfers the strings right into the body. One thing i did notice was your faber bridge doen't have the locks like i use. i guess i didn't notice they sold a non locking bridge I thought they were all locking bridges and tail pieces.. I find that using a alum tail piece really brightens up the tone. So the epiphone tail pieces come in handy if i want to warm the tone up a bit...

I just dropped her off at my Luthier - Moze Guitars. She definitely had a few high frets as well as a few rough fret ends. I am having them do the Fret Leveling/crowning/polishing and the setup. They are also going to change to 50's wiring and put Orange Drop Capacitors on her. I can't wait to get her back.

I live in the middle of no where texas. There are no guitar shops with in 100 miles of me so I have to work on the guitars my self. I wish i could take one to a luthier and get frets done up and all that.. I hope your 60's turns out nice man deff a sweet looking guitar. Makes me wish i had gone with the ebony on my 60's...

I have thought a couple of times about getting the stuff I need to do all my own work, but only doing stuff like that 1-2, or even 3 times a year, I figure I will leave it to the professionals that do it daily. I wanted the Iced Tea for the Epiphone 60's, but they will not be available until mid May at the earliest. I went with the next best thing in this model, Ebony.

I like living near the City, but not in the City. Close enough to get to everything, but far enough to have a little bit more of the beautiful outdoors, biking and hiking trails.

I got it back from the Luthier, and the setup was a bit off, it was not as easy to play as when it left my hands. I spent about an hour or two making adjustments till I got it right where I like it. Now it is easy to play and feels really great in my hands. It's amazing just making small changes here and there for a bit and trying different things until you get the guitar the way you want. It really makes a huge difference when you find your zone, a perfect setup for you.
