Well...didn't you say it's hard to put down? Clearly a Winner! May be one of those.."if I could only have ONE guitar for the rest of my life" kinda guitars...possibly? Enjoy!

Totally and thank you

I'm so chuffed for you.

There aren't too many things that look better than a black Custom ('cept maybe a goldtop with P90s  )

I too would like to make it over to Old Blighty for holiday.

Amazing! Does the ‘77 have a maple neck?

Yes..... T-top pickups.... though I did replace the original bridge because it collapsed....with a Faber ABRN in aged gold..... other than the bridge it’s completely original 1977 Custom.

From all the specs i have read from other sites on this Exclusive Custom it says,
"Fingerboard Material: Bolivian Rosewood"

Do these have Ebony boards?

I am in the market for my first Gibson Custom, I was going to go 57 or 68, I seen these but are these customs not made in the custom shop? These are almost half the price of the 57-68 so how are they so cheap?

I love my Gibsons dont get me wrong but this is what i hate about Gibson, They confuse the hell outta people like me with all these models. So aside from the period correct specs, Why is this guitar so much cheaper than a 57-68? i am so confused lol. i know the 57-68 has different pickups but this model is 3699.00 compared to 5799.00 and 6699.00

Just seems like such a dramatic jump in price, No? What am i missing here?

Couldn’t tell you but this thing is just as nice as my reissue guitars and in some regards better. It’s an amazing instrument.

It’s a regular Custom with the VOS treatment and Custom Buckers; also, no weight relief. Maybe since the finish is VOS they were allowed a few more flaws. I’m not really sure why these are cheaper, but I’m really glad they are. This guitar is absolutely amazing in every way. It’s special, IMO. @crowemag82 can speak to this. He thinks really highly of his. It’s got the mojo. I’m glad it was cheaper than usual. If wasn’t cheaper, I’d still get it.

Not sure but my example is certainly ebony and even says so on the Gibson label on the box. Defiantly NOT rosewood.

Although I did not pay $3999 for it after a nice offer accepted. Hahahaha. I paid around $3200 for mine. I would gladly pay the $3999 and more for this guitar. It’s amazing. I am not a fan of the pick ups but have already swapped them out and will be selling them.

I paid full price but am not upset about it. What pickups did you put in yours?
