I didn't realize that the site actually specified that. I honestly don't know enough about it to determine how much of a difference it makes, if at all. There are people here who definitely more about it than me.

To my ears I don’t think it makes that much of a difference especially with the gain we use these days. Hahahaha. I just wanted to make sure someone wasn’t in there messing with it. Hahaha.

I just bought a new ‘57 Custom recently and those have the CB’s and they are not noisy nor hot. Maybe put some covers on?

These are certainly CB‘ s and are not hot at all. I’m very familiar with the 498/490 and these ain’t it.

Yeah I just looked at the spec on the link and it appears they are. Maybe lower the pickups?

I don’t think you have Custombuckers in that guitar. The regular Customs come with the 490R and 498T pickups which are really hot. I just bought a new ‘57 Custom recently and those have the CB’s and they are not noisy nor hot.

I’m getting 7.93 neck. 7.90 bridge in guitar so likely a little higher actually.
Mine may have a weird wiring issue causing excess noise.
