NGD Joe Bonamassa 'Lazarus' 1959 Les Paul Standard

I got a call from my Sweetwater guy and he sent me two links to choose from for the Joe Bonamassa Lazarus 59 Les Paul Standard. I picked the one I like best and she will be here next week sometime. I have been looking for a reasonably priced aged Les Paul Standard for over a year now, and the coloring/look of this guitar is exactly what I was looking for. I can’t wait till she arrives.

It's a new day for Epiphone. Finally Gibson is using the Epiphone line to create some terrific guitars, they are not Gibsons second class citizens anymore.

I have a EPI ES 355 Bonamassa. It is incredible. Recently I bought a gibson standard lp 50"s. Then i picked up an epi lp koa. The standard has 10x the balls of the epi koa. My guess is the epi bonamassa lp will turn out to be way more capable than my koa as well. I think Joe's influence on his signature models design is likely to be a really good thing for Epi performance.

Mine just arrived 2 minutes before SWMBO got home from work.
I managed to spirit it downstairs before she pulled in. She never has a real problem with my guitar buying but I have made a few recent purchases, so I thought discretion is the better part of valor.

BTW Op, I forgot to mention that your new guitar looks fantastic. I hope it plays as good as it looks.

yes, I am pretty sure the back is not veneer, just the maple cap, so what we’re seeing is probably two pieces not a veneer finish.

there was a recent discussion on the topic and some members stated that Epiphone puts veneer on the back too. I am happy to hear there's real wood on these.

I know they do. What I meant is why would they put a veneer that looks like two pieces when its easier to have a full one.

Mine came a day early just like I had hoped it would. I took the pickguard off for the last picture, I am a pickguard off kind of person, except on a Les Paul Custom.
