HNGD!

it looks great and if it only sounds half as good as it looks, it'll still sound amazing :)
..and what's most important: it's YOURS ;)

oh.. and your family will still hear you talk about it at least another 800(00..) times :D

edit: and welcome to the forum :)

Congratulations!!! :applause::applause:

Looks awesome and welcome to the world of LP's!

It don't make one bit of difference whether the guitar is a pricey top end model or not. If you love it and it rocks for you then that's all that matters, so enjoy it!!! :thumb:

HNGD!!! :dude:

If you don't care about it being a show piece there is little difference in sound between the highest priced and lowest price Les Paul's. In fact in my experience, 14 LPs in 3 years, quite often it's the little loved models I have had that played the best for me. I had a 80s Norlin Era XR1 LP that was a "glue together" at the factory build. It had a 5 piece back.. Thats correct glued together 5 pieces. The guitar was awesome.

So enjoy that thing. Listening to your guitar will give you the same satisfaction as listening to a $5000 R9 reissue.

This may not be as exciting to everyone else as it was to me. But here's the story...

50 years old...never, ever, ever had a Les Paul. Stopped playing for a while (played since 13 though) and then got back into it recently (on and off thing). I've got one kid in college and another junior in high school. Budget says a LP Custom etc. doesn't work.

Found a 2012 LP 70's tribute. Picked it up for $500 with hard case. Mint condition.

Then my "don't-always-know-what-I'm-doing -figure it out later-a**" decided to switch out the color from cream to black. Several stripped screws and hanging pick-ups later, it was back together. Whew...

Anyway...it ain't the best...it's close to the bottom of LP, BUT.....I OWN A LES PAUL....I said... I OWN A LES PAUL.

I am still grinning. Plugged it into my old Peavey tube amp that I bought in 1980 and fixed a few months ago....life is good.

Like I said...it's all relative. It ain't the prettiest or the best, but it is my girl and I love her. It is a joy that I hope everyone gets to feel one day.

Looking forward to being a member of MY LES PAUL.

PS...thanks for the help...I probably wouldn't have done this deal without researching everyone's experience on here.

HNGD! There are a LOT of us that used to play and were on and off over time and hit our 50's and here we are again stronger than ever! By the way if that Les Paul you have IS close to the bottom then that's where I wanna be! I got a really really nice 2014 Traditional, as good as they get, and I just picked up a close to the bottom as some might call her, a 2013 50's Tribute with P90's that blows the Traditional away in playability and in tone. Your Les Paul IS just that a Lester no better and NO worse than anything else with the name Les Paul written on it in my view! By the way welcome to the best forum out there period!

WOW

Overwhelming response from everyone!!! Thanks for the warm welcome!!!

Here is a pic of the amp. Its a Peavey 50 watt 2 12's. I got it fixed a month or so ago. Best $120 I spent in a long time. The guy fixing it loved it and kept raving about how the tubes are American made...which none have been made in the USA for 35 years.

I am back in high school, right???

Now if I only knew how to play...haha...

It actually hasn't been that long. I've just been playing my acoustic for the last few years.

Hngd. A les paul is a les paul, whatever model it is. I own a studio 60s mahogany satin, and a classic custom. I love them both. Glad you found yourself a great guitar that makes you smile from ear to ear. I think we all do it. :D

Thanks all!!!

I had to post on here because my family was pretty sick of me telling them about it for the 800th time. HAHA

I get you there, I know what that's like...

She is a dark and sexy LP and certainly no bottom feeder...congrats!
