This is my first post on this forum and Yesterday was NGD for me. I scored a 2010 LP Traditional Plus in Lefty. Just got the shipment yesterday. I will post pics soon. I do have a question. The warranty and Checklist were not filled out. Does Gibson forget to filli out the checklist? Happen to anyone else? The dealer where I got the guitar said that Gibson has been messing up a lot lately. There was alos no truss rod wrench in hte box. I heard that customers were snapping the truss rods? Ihaven't owned a LP in a long time. Good to see Gibson has been consistent on the QC.

When I bought my studio a month or so ago, I didn't get a truss rod wrench, nor did I get a checklist. However, when my brother bought his Gibson SG Faded Special about 2 years ago, his came with the checklist, but not the wrench.

No more wrenches. Checklist should be filled out though. Anything on there at all? Serial number?

I didn't even get one with my 50s Tribute, but not worrying about it.

My advice would be to Email [email protected]
(He is a Gibson Customer Service Specialist) send him 3 or 4 photographs
of the guitar, and of the sales receipt, and the Checklist that’s not filled
in and ask him how he wants to handle it. Be sure to tell him this does
matter to you.

I got the pamflet, but it was blank. the dealer was suprised by it as well, but he had commented that a lot of strange things had been going on with Gibson since the flood.

I woulnd not have thought much of it, but after seeing the factory tour video it appeared as though Gibson took the filling of it our during the build process very seriously. The guitar is killer though.

There ya go! It MIGHT matter on re-sale, and I like all that stuff too, but it isn't a COA or anything. Do the serial number warranty registration on-line, entered in along with the model number, and at least you'll have a record of some sort you can print out (besides your receipt).

The dealer has to e-mail me the product code since it's not on the paperwork.

Shoot - maybe you could look up the same model online - amazon is great for having the codes listed...oohhh a lefty though - not sure about that in the code!

Oh well - certainly the dealer will have it!

Congrats on the new guitar. My 7 year old boy is a lefty so one day I may be in the market for a lefty LP.

I just got a studio two weeks ago and it had the checklist filled out. It's pre-flood though and was made in April 2009 and sat in the GC warehouse for a year and a half.

Daryl got back to me on this. Apparently the checklist thing must happen from time to time. Daryl said that the way they have things set up, there is no way a guitar can be built and not inspected along the way, so not to worry.
I still need to get pics of my new guitar on the board. I have owned a bunch of Gibson's in the past. I seem to be bonding with this particular one the best so far. probably the best build quality our of the box. It ranks right up there with a couple of custom shop models I have owned. Great work Gibson!

It happened to me! And it was a Custom Shop guitar . Checklist filled partially. The serial is there, though. So, it happens.

No more wrenches.

???? what? why don't the pack adjustment wrenches anymore, doesnt the user manual mention that you may need an adjustment before you play your brand new Gibson? :hmm:
I bet :slash: gets a wrench!

Figure that little wrench costs them about $1, that means they can save that on every guitar they sell - adds up quickly!

Which is BS, 'cause the trouble is having one when ya need it (which is as soon as you get the new axes home), not the extra $ you might have to pay to get one with the $2000 guitar ya just bought!
