Cant wait, got a steal of a deal on a new PRS Mcarty Korina with Brazilian board and P-90's....for $150 more than the S2 semi hollow I bought last year.

They are blowing these out, still have a couple dozen or so left

Paul Reed Smith - Dave's Guitar Shop

I cant wait, almost got the powder blue, but the cascading grain of the one I chose was too pretty to pass up. Most of em have gold hardware, but for the price I can live with it and change it later if I cant. Gonna be a long few days till she arrives....Hard to believe these are $250 cheaper than the new 2016 CE bolt on's

Wow those are pretty great prices for the Tobacco's. I used to own a humbucker version and played another, both with Braz boards. They played and sounded wonderful. Congrats on the new guitar:thumb:

I have one in Cherry from Dave's...Same deal - 2007 NOS Korina Braz board Soapbar P90 McCarty.

After a pup swap it's my favorite PRS. Try some DAllen Cool Cats in that thing. 60s P90 bark for days.

HNGD! My McCarty is seriously one of the most solid guitars I've ever owned.

Yeah, I wasn't in the market, saw those, and 3 days later I couldn't help myself.

So how does PRS source so much Brazillian rosewood?
Kind of makes a mockery of cites attempt to protect endangered species.

PRS Guitars Brazilian Rosewood

"Brazilian rosewood has long been considered to be a cherished tonewood by musical instrument builders and collectors thanks to its extraordinary aesthetic characteristics and rich sustain. All Brazilian rosewood used by PRS Guitars is from reclaimed and salvaged sources and is 100% recycled. With responsible practices and this new partnership, PRS is providing beautiful, resonant, quality instruments while giving back in a socially meaningful way."

A little different to Gibson's attitude. Nice article, and typical Paul Smith view on responsibility. If only Henry would ........ y'know ........ (*sigh*)

Seems PRS are implicated in illegal logging in the USA. Hmmm!
Go back and read it again. PRS was NOT implicated, J&L Tonewoods and his logger buddies were.

In fact, he plead guilty: Music Wood Poaching Case Targets Mill Owner Who Sold To PRS Guitars

Maryland-based PRS Guitars is not implicated in the case, but a small mill owner and three alleged poachers are.

As far as PRS and Brazilian rosewood:

Beginning in 2013, Paul Reed Smith Guitars will donate a portion of the proceeds from guitars made using Brazilian rosewood to the Monte Pascoal Pau Brasil Ecological Corridor project (MPPB-EC). The MPPB-EC aims to reforest and restore native ecosystems in a large section of Atlantic Forest in Brazil. Due in part to outstanding benefits for local communities and the positive impact on the Atlantic Forest biodiversity and ecosystem, this project was awarded the coveted “Gold Level” validation to the Climate Community and Biodiversity Standards. Throughout the project’s 30-year lifetime, it is expected that more than 2,470 acres will be reforested. This process has already begun.

“As a company we are dedicated to providing exceptional instruments in a responsible manner. I have always personally loved the sound and feel of Brazilian Rosewood, and I am happy to be able to make guitars for musicians using this prized material while supporting the MPPB-EC initiative,” Paul Reed Smith

She is here!!....came from Wisconsin, and it in the 30's here, so I'm reluctantly going to follow the big red sticker on the box to wait 24 hours before opening ....or at least till tomorrow morning...

I LOVE that one! Oh man, the korina PRSi are special. Korina guitars seem to always have a great feel, a real vibe. And yours is totally gorgeous.

Recycled Braz ... that's just awesome. I'm a bigger fan of that company all the time.
