Thought I'd post up some pics of my magic wand...
It's a 2013 1960 reissue that was sent off to Kim at historic makeovers for the full works and what a job he's done..
Top carve, neck carve, vintage style truss rod, hot hide glue neck reset, Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard, Retrospec inlays, Royalite binding, new frets, nylon nut, vintage correct finish, distressing, serial stamp, and headstock silkscreen. I kept the original Burstbuckers which sound great but I've got some Sheptone Heartbreakers ready to swap in when I feel the need...
The other thing that stands out is the finish. The hard nitro finish feels very different to the softer sticky original custom shop reissue finish. Whether this affects the sound who knows.
Also really happy with the ageing job - very authentic.
I have to say I was a bit skeptical before I owned a Brazilian about what a difference it would make, but somehow it makes the guitar more organic sounding, more woody, more musical its really sings rather than screams
Grovers and the slightly slimmer neck really set it off nicely as well I use it as a total rock machine
