NGD: Greco Custom Supreme?

I bought this off of Yahoo last month and was able to pick it up when I was in Japan. She is a beast of a custom at a 10.5 lbs but with a fat Super Real neck and DRY-Zs the weight doesn't bother me so much. I think I could knock of a couple hundred grams if I got an aluminum tailpiece and swapped the Grovers for Klusons but for now she stays as is.

Strangely enough the DRY-Z in the neck has 4-conductor wiring but is not hooked up for any phase or coil tap. . The numbers on the Z make them from early 1980.

The inlays are quite well done.

Do you think the grovers are original? Pretty out of the ordinary for that era.

I think they could be original. I'll have to pop one off the next time I change strings and see if there is an extra hole.
They were standard on the EG-1000Cs in the 70's. I wonder what the earliest regular-inlay "Super Real" EG-1000C would be anyway.

I think I need to get one of those wide straps for this one.

It's not a Supreme, but a Custom with Super 400 inlay.

Gibson has done a few runs of these since the 80's. I would imagine that Greco based this model on the older LP Custom with Super 400 inlay.
