NGD: Gibson Les Paul 50s Standard

Now that I think I’ve figured out the picture posting thing. Picked this beauty up this past Saturday. My first real Standard. All my free time I spend with this. Hell, I don’t want to go to work today. Anyway, sorry for the bad pics.

Went to get one of the sweet little double cut single P90s on sale. Wound up with this. Think I’m going back today after that DC.

Now, this does concern me. Should I worry about it? I do NOT want to return this guitar or exchange it. This one just feels right. I’d rather just replace the nut.

Yeah that crack looks just cosmetic, I don't think it's a big deal.

Leave it alone. Not a crack. That's a bit of clear sprayed on the nut. Don’t try to peel it off.

The nut on my new 50s has that too. I was wondering what it was.

I've had a few Gibsons with nuts like that. It's just the clear coat, as someone pointed out above. Nothing to worry about.

They mostly all have that on the nut. Wouldn't worry about it. Is that a Tobacco Burst? Great flame for a AA top ... really beautiful. Enjoy!
