NGD First Fender! 2005 Yamano 62’ AVRI Stratocaster

Bought my first Fender guit!
2005 Yamano AVRI 62’ Stratocaster.

Got this for about 1400 USD, has all the case candy too! Lightweight at around 3.5kg, and its still pretty white colored despite how old it is.

It has a few scratches on the back, and on the butt.
She still has the protective film on the pickguard as well.

Came perfect out of the box too.
I can play this guitar and effortlessly change to my Gibsons.
The feel is slightly different, but as long as you don’t have ridiculously low action, the 7.25 radius is not an issue at all imo.

The only changes I see doing to this, is changing the 3-way to the 5-way switch that’s included, and maybe raising the action a bit on the treble side.
Maybe I should go for 10’s first?

But take that plastic off the guard and start dinging it up (Naturally of course)... Those AVRI guitars were really meant to be played, and worn down like the originals. Thin finishes and great feeling instruments.

Yep took the plastic right off, but the pickguard is pretty sticky now so I have to
buff it out.

The plastic was on for so long it almost became a part of the pickguard lmao.

They’re getting pretty hard to find at good deals
so you gotta get em fast haha.

Yep! The darker board really suits!

It’s kinda unfortunate that the Vintera series
uses Pau ferro, they’re usually too bright colored
For my tastes.

The one thing I love about 1962 Fenders is no skunk stripe on the back of the neck.

Wow - that’s hot. What a coincidence - I just pulled the trigger on a 2006 AVRI ’62 strat. neck. Iit’ll go on mongrel Strat build that has pre-98 Fender 57 & 62 pickups and the bridge from a Jimmy Vaughn strat which uses the same bridge as the AVRI Strats. I’m curious what the neck is like on your new strat?
