Greetings all! While on a trip down south, found this beauty in a GC, AND for a good price! A 2013 ES139. The all maple construction reminds me of my L6S. It's a really wonderful playing and sounding guitar, that for some reason was discontinued a year after being released. Go figure....

Awesome. HNGD! :applause:

I really liked these ES-139s.
So straight forward. A pure rock machine.

I bought one new in 2013 (sunburst). It was my first Gibson after over 30 years of not owning one. It really is a unique instrument - extremely light, clear, and open sounding. After playing Fenders for so long, I really love the simplicity of a single volume and tone. It is slightly neck heavy, but a wide suede strap handles that easily and it is joy to play. I'd like to find a black one sometimes.

I've been wanting one of those since I passed on a new one for $899 when they were blowing them out at GC a few years ago. May buy a used one yet some day.

I've been using it, and one other hollow exclusively for the last 2 months. (The other hollow is a 65 Gretsch Viking) I LOVE the 139! I did have to make a small mod or two on it. First was adding a .001 cap to the volume control. Every time I adjusted the volume, lost some high end. A simple fix. The other was dumping that stupid bridge, that was NEVER grooved, and adding a roller bridge I had floating in the junk drawer. So MUCH better! Overall, one of the better inexpensive models that Gibby has put out.
