I had my eye on this guitar since it was announced. I always wanted a black beauty custom, and this was a chance to get an affordable one!

I got one yesterday here in Canada and I came home and rocked out hard for an hour or two. I realized the intonation was a bit off so I started fine tuning it and discovered that the guitar suffered from some symptoms I have read about before - bent saddle screws. Bent to the point that the saddle will popup out of the bridge body when turned, if you can turn it at all. Almost all the saddles had the same issue.

Disgruntled, I took it back to the Guitar shop and went to another store (same company) about 30 mins away; they had another copy of the guitar. I explained the issue and they took the second one down to test out those saddles - same issue on the second one. Bent screws that would not turn easily in the bridge. They did manage to take the 'best' screws from each bridge and consolidate it into mine, but at the end of the day didn't feel like moving forward with it - alot of hassle for a guitar of this price. Don't' get me wrong - I understand its a cheaper variant of the real thing, but I also have an Epi 339 Pro that was 500 and the bridge is flawless.

I feel pretty bummed because the guitar was sharppppppp and I will never be able to afford a USA Gibson Custom like this. Feeling sad :(

My wife says I should go back and get it (after I already returned it) and live with it, or replace the screws, or get a new bridge - it was a great player - neck felt good, but I feel a bit robbed by the fact the bridge just isn't at least working, in TWO separate guitars!!

Yesh man as others say, if it felt good, buy it, a few bent screws? Not ideal but order some ‘soft’ brass ones from crazy parts.

If it’s a big name store they might already have a bridge in stock to swap out. If not order one up and go get your guitar!

IMO a few bent saddle screws that are easily replaced (and for a pittance) is not a reason to return a guitar.

Go get it back!

i have the same guitar and to be honest never noticed the bent screws on mine.. i guess i'm one of the guys that wants to tinker and replace things even if they arent in need of replacing... i have bought two sets of these tone pro 2 nashvile style replacement parts for my epi's... these were a little pricey but you can find a replacement OEM bridge for 20 bucks.. don't miss out on the guitar for such a minor issue, hell maybe the music store can give you another bridge?? good luck man..

Let us know what you eventually decide to do.

A good Gotoh bridge in gold finish will cost you very little. But yeah, like another said, try to negotiate down on it. It is a beauty.
