So after a loooong time searching for a new guitar I landed on this. I thought I would wait with the NGD thread until I'd had the time to try out the guitar properly. After getting disappointed in my local store not being able to get a Les Paul Government I looked into alternatives and thought I would try and get a good sounding guitar rather than a Gibson with a nice story behind it. I landed on this since I've always wanted a nice semi hollowbody and want to venture more into blues. So here she is:

Epiphone 50th Anniversary 1962 Sheraton E212T Outfit:

- Maple top and body
- Mahogany neck
- Rosewood fretboard with pearloid and abalone triangle block inlays
- 60's slimtaper neck profile
- All bound body, neck and headstock
- Frequensator tailpiece and Tune-o-matic bridge
- Gibson mini humbuckers
- Grover tuners
- CTS pots
- Vintage style 1962 hardcase
- Certificate of authenticity

She is a beauty and she plays awesomely. The humbuckers are warm when they need to be and crispy and snappy when they need to be. I already love playing it plugged and unplugged as it has that nice semi hollow acoustic unplugged sound. I feared that the pickups wouldn't be agressive enough for the hard stuff but they can rock with the best I must say. :slash: The case is very nice grey leatherish material and blue plush on the inside. Nice certificate in form of a small book rather than just a piece of paper. Very happy buyer :applause:

I played a Sheraton recently and they are very nice guitars - lots of attention to detail, eg bindings, inlays, etc. I don't know how they get all that humbucking goodness in a mini-humbucker, but they do :)

HNGD!

Nice, Robben Ford-approved guitar... well, not exactly, but you know what I mean, isn't it? ;)

Just thought I'd post some more pics of her nice looks. Check out the back especially, almost cherry looking :naughty:

Same to you, they didn't have the one with tremolo in stock but I really like the wood grain on mine, hows the wood grain on the cherry?

I like the look a lot but I've sold mine now because it was heavier than my les Paul!

Interesting :hmm: I wonder if the Sheraton is any heavier than the Dot? I have the Dot and it doesn't feel uncomfortably heavy. When I've tried LPs with a strap they not only feel heavy, but the neck wants to pull down. The "335" style body has a better balance in my experience.
