It's a Gold Top! I've always wanted one, finally got around to pulling the trigger.

Fit and finish are great, plays and feels great. I'm not too thrilled with the pickups, though. They seem kind of anemic. I have a set of Probuckers and the push-pull pot wiring harness from my PTP, I think I'll throw those in there and see if it improves the situation. Otherwise, it rocks!

It's really amazing the quality you can get for $400-500 bucks from Epiphone.

Definitely going to have to replace those Amber knobs, tho. Epiphone has more Amber knobs than there are stars in the universe.

nice Goldtop
Always wanted one.
Tbh I prefer the Epi Standard Goldtop over a lot of Gibsons.
Whats the back on it?
Are the Epi's light back?

I agree with you on the Standard pickups, I put some Irongear's (UK company) in my Standard, so much better.

My Standard is probably my favorite guitar I own

The back is pretty dark. I much prefer lighter backs, but this is all Epi offers.

ah, I have no real preference, I'd say I lean closer to light back if I had to pick one.

Seen as though Gibson don't do many Goldtops apart from the VOS or Reissues, this is high on my wish list.

Looks sweet.
Nicer in these pics than stock pics, makes me want it more

For some strange reason, the dark back seems to be standard on all Asian makers' models with gold tops. -:hmm:
