So it finally arrived!!
Amazing guitar, I was afraid that the neck will be too thick for me but now I actually found the thin neck on my special uncomfortable :D

Now I (obviously) want to replace the amber knobs for gold ones, but I heard that when pulling off the push/pull knobs it is possible to break the pot, is there some way to avoid that or should I just be gentle and hope for the best?

Also how are the epi strap locks, I heard that they fail quite often, do you have any experience with them?

Anyway here are the photos, sorry for the bad quality, there was not a single good camera around and the lighting was really, really bad. It actually looks a lot better than on the photos :naughty:

I'm a fool for GT's with a '57 likely at (or at least near the top) of my GAS list. Sweet one there!

The shoestring and light jerk method works best for me and I've yet to damage anything while employing it for knob removal.

While lacking the vintage look, I defer to Schaller strap locks preferring safety to style in this case.

Enjoy your new '57. I predict years of satisfaction...

Congrats on your new 57 GT. If you're careful with the knobs when removing them you shouldn't have a problem. That was one of the first things I did with mine was put decent knobs on. Just work them back and forth without pulling up too hard on them and they will eventually come off. Enjoy and HN57GTD. :thumb::thumb:

Congrats! Very nice looking guitar.

My Epi ES-339 has push-pull pots. I've had no problems removing the knobs by wrapping a cloth underneath and giving a quick tug.

Sweet!! Another Gold Top! As for strap locks, just drink a couple Grolsch until you can buy a proper set. (Or just keep the Grolsch washers. Never had one slip off yet).

Agreed ^^^^
Grolsch washers are the best strap locks on the planet. I've tried them all. Got tired of black metal dust on my guitar from the Schlaller style. Bought a bag of Grolsch washers off evilbay a few years back and have never looked back. No guitar or strap mods necessary! I play about 250 gigs a year and have not had a single issue...converted a bunch of other people over to them as well.
