NGD: Elite LP Custom :)

It's been 2 years and I am still kicking myself for passing up an Elitist faded cherry sunburst (much like Tanq's I think) so when I saw this I just had to at least look at it. I'm not really into gold hardware so I figured if I decide to get this I'd play with it a couple of months then flip or trade it for another MIJ. But as soon as I saw it I fell in love with it. It has some dings here and there but they were not signs of neglect or abuse (let's call them mojo marks). It's just a solid feeling guitar. Very resonant unplugged. Fretboard/neck feels wide but not bulky (i don't know how to better describe it).

Still getting used to the taper. I've read these are Noble pots which do not have to be replaced. Taper seems uneven unlike CTS. I don't know if i should change them.

The caps I will replace. The previous owner changed the pups to SD A2P. Can you guys recommend what kind of cap and cap values for these pups? TIA.

If you don't like the pots change them out. I put CTS in my Elitists and PIO caps.

I like a .022 cap in the bridge and a .015 in the neck. Some will use a .022 in both the neck and bridge. PIO Sprague VitaminQ are nice. Also a .015 PIO Gudeman goes nice with those too. My favorites are usually Sprague HYREL but they are hard to find. TundraTone may have a few left. I don't think I have bought them all up yet.

Any opinion of Jensen PIO's? I put one in the neck on my '56GT and really like it, but I have no idea how they work with humbuckers, and no one around here mentions them.

I believe I have Jensen's in the Boneyard and it sounds killer with the stock Burstbucker 2 and 3 wired out of phase. They came with an RS super pots kit. I have seen quite a few people use the Jensen's.

There's always room for another member in the Elitist Club. That's a sweet looking LP, I prefer the Ebony on the Elitist LPC's. Following Skit's advice, I've got Tundratone harnesses in both my Elitist. One has Hyrel Caps the other Vitamin Q. I couldn't really say one is better than the other, they seem about the same to me and both made by Sprague. Jensen caps would be at least their equal I think. Congrats on your new LPC, you won't find a better one I believe. HNED!
