Beautiful work Dave, absolutely outstanding. I might need to talk to you about a flying V.
Matter of fact, I've got a V going right now.
And a Jr being buffed out, getting ready to ship.
Shoot me a PM and we'll talk about making that happen.

Beautiful guitar man, love the color.

@LtDave32 what material do you use for the cavity cover?
I use material I get from a cast acrylic supplier. Like Stew Mac's stuff, only better. And in several shades and patterns.

Here's a few more shots:

This wasn't a normal 'bird build.

This was a combination of neck thru, reverse and non-reverse. A combination of patterns, and some patterns designed on our own. Pappy58 was very specific in exactly what he wanted, and we are a custom shop, if anything.

So build it we did. I'm just damn happy he loves it. That means everything to me.

well, I'm not totally against them, and I certainly can make them in the neck carve.

As to if it helps, I can't say for the testing of it would be fairly catastrophic.

I'm a firm believer in taking care of one's tools. I will not ship one of my guitars without a hard shell case to go with.

That means the extra expense of a HSC, but that's like everyone else.

I just cannot see buying a hand-crafted instrument, then toting it around in a "gig bag".

uh-uh. No sir.

So if you put your guitar up proper, or secure it correctly at a gig, then one should never have a problem.

I have a job that came in to replicate an old Mosrite neck for forum member Neffco. It's got a volute. But Neff specified that he did not want the volute in the new neck.

-The man will get what he wants. Just like everybody who enters my shop, via this forum or in person.

You get what you want here. You can buy "off the rack", or you can get a suit tailor-made to your wishes.

That's what I do.

..and no, I won't ask if you "dress left".

Is this only Dave's seventh Desert Star guitar? My god man. He should be inundated with orders. The man is an artist and craftsman.

Lets all make Dave's decision to quit the Dagget Water Dept. a good one. I'm GOING to commission a guitar from Dave in the future.

I just have to decide what it is I want.

OK, I've given it some thought, Dave, can you make me a replica of a Gittler?

(Just a joke Dave, I will be ordering a guitar from you in the future.)
